The protagonist of 999 is extremely good at explaining things.
I can’t believe I’m playing a puzzle game.

I can’t believe you’re up.I can’t believe I’m up.… seriously though why don’t I have this game

It’s really good horror, an insufficiently interactive visual novel, and bizarrely, bizarrely text-heavy for absolutely no reason. Between every piece of interaction you end up reading, like, twenty thousand words of cutscene text. But it’s still really excellent. Plus, extensive Cat’s Cradle references throughout.
Basically I thought I was getting into something that would be more difficult than Phoenix Wright to play in between trials in Phoenix Wright, but instead I got ESCAPE THE ROOM GAMES: WHAT IF THEY INVOLVED SUPPLEMENTAL READING
…and it turns out I love that. -_-
