We’ve Solved Bagel-Slicing
Slicing a bagel evenly and safely is a challenge. For a technique that allows you to do both, lay the bagel flat on the work surface and cut through the center to make two pieces. Place each piece, cut-side down, on the work surface to safely slice in half. For more tasty tips click here.

thank you lindsey for ensuring everyone knows how to cut me into quarters
I DISAGREE, BAGEL SLICING WAS SOLVED LONG AGO BY THE MAKERS OF THE BAGEL GUILLOTINE
WE HAD ONE OF THESE AT THE JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER WHEN I WAS A KID AND IT WAS AN OBJECT OF AWE AND REVERENCE FOR EVERY CHILD. WHAT A BRILLIANT BEAUTIFUL DEVICE. WHAT AN INVENTION. WHY *WOULDNT* YOU WANT TO CUT YOUR BAGEL IN HALF THIS WAY. WHY WOULDNT YOU WANT TO PRETEND YOUR BAGEL HAD COMMITTED A TERRIBLE CRIME IN LATE 18TH CENTURY FRANCE? I SIMPLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND.
Seriously, if you aren’t sentencing your bagels to a bagel death, getting your bagel stuck in the bagel guillotine because those things are slightly too narrow, shoving the bagel down, cutting your now flat bagel in half, and holding it up saying “Vive la republique,” you are not eating a bagel.
reblogging for best commentary ever, ALL HAIL BAGEL GUILLOTINE!
