it’s funny because you know the original comic? the joke isn’t “roxy doesnt know frigglish is going to die” the joke is “i have put rose and roxy into the situation depicted in the original comic because I find the comparison entertaining”

so yeah definitely link to the original, so that a) people dont think you are claiming this as your own thing b) more people can actually get the joke

idk crossover jokes obviously arent going to be innovative most of the time but that doesnt mean its never … funny … to be like “this situation in one thing i like can be compared to a situation in another thing i like” 

…Uh…especially since the original post (THIS IS BY YUBISHINES) DOES credit Kate Beaton: the tag is “sorry again Kate Beaton.” See?

I don’t disagree with anything owlpellets is saying, but a single tag like that is really not the best sourcing in the world.  it’s not the worst, either (that would be people who intentionally link things back to their own blog) but it’s not as clear as it could be.  as you can see, at least one person didn’t even believe that it was from a kate beaton comic.

i mean, i’m also very biased in this situation, because i really like this tumblr.

Without getting into the larger artistic question (a point on which I’m sort of ambivalent) I actually agree, but I’d be pretty surprised if it was anything but a casual mistake on Yubi’s point that got inflated b/c the comic got an unusual amount of traffic. ANYWAY. Yes, don’t just source things in your tag, that is an easy way for things to get lost!
